IT was smiles all round at Epsom Primary School today thanks to a visit from Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan about funding for the school's rebuild. Ms Allan met with principal Lyn Coulter, teachers, staff, parents and students to discuss the work required at the growing school, including new classrooms. A total of $5.7 million was allocated in the Victorian 2015-16 budget towards the rebuild, which Ms Allan said would deliver on Epsom's need for a bigger, better primary school. "Local kids are currently learning in classrooms well past their use by date, which is compromising the quality of their education," she said. "Labor’s funding injection will fix and expand Epsom Primary School, giving local kids the education they deserve." Epsom is one of the fastest growing parts of Bendigo, with growth expected to continue. The numbers of students at Epsom Primary School have grown sharply in the last five years, with enrolments increasing from 80 in 2009 to 204 in 2014.
