The Club Fours Champions for 2021 are Marja Iffland, Maria Willcockson, Gwenda Carty and Cherie Frame.
After a sluggish start, they rose to the occasion and went on to defeat the runners-up, Julie Green, Laurie Keane, Eileen Bradley and Carol Reed, 29 - 13, on rink 17.
Congratulations gals on reaching the Final, and well done the victors! Thanks to umpire, Liz.
In her acceptance speech, the victorious skip stated it was their 'thyme' to win!
The social fours game was a close tussle.
Eight of our perennials didn't let the moss gather on their bowls, despite the damp conditions.
Heather Harvey (heather - isn't that a flower?), Betsy Johnstone (everlasting team member), Merilyn Rodgers (keeping her warm palm grippo'ed) and Vi West (awarded the winner's garland) were too strong for Elaine Miller (with a spring in her step), Di Howell (those red cherries), Maureen Miller (in a few prickly situations) & Kay Craft (a budding future pennant player).

Delighted to receive their $$$ in the 100's club were Vi, Eileen, Laurie, Joan and Lynn.
The usual friendly banter accompanied the draw, with some unidentified persons blowing raspberries!
Next week, Tuesday October 19, at 10 am (that's TEN O'CLOCK), there will be one match of Minor Singles - Maria Will vs Julie Green. Marker: Di H. Umpire: Liz B.
All other entrants enjoy a bye, with Round 2 to be played the following week, October 26.
Next Tuesday, there will be the floral themed Trading Table and birthday pavlovas!
The crock pot/bowls bag raffle will be drawn, so please buy your last lucky tickets.

There are two important dates to add to the diary.
Melbourne Cup Day, November 2, will be a Mixed Triples mufti day, with Dev's kitchen catered lunch, sweeps and all the fun of Cup day!
Names to be placed in the folder on the bar, on or before October 30, with teams to be drawn on Monday November 1.
A week later, November 9, is a "Spring Fling" Gala Day of bowls, picnic shared lunch, raffles and bubbly!
Next Tuesday, October 19, to play social bowls, call the club on 6862 1446, between 9 - 9.30 am, with all play to begin at 10 am.
