Over ten strapping Boars took part in 'Movember' last month to raise money for men's mental health and it was a resounding success, with the club raising almost $1500 and helping to raise awareness for a cause that is often hard for men to talk about.
Cooper Byrnes, who coached second grade to the grand final this year, helped to organise the club's charity initiative and while he was stoked with the results, he wasn't afraid to throw a couple of teammates under the bus either.
"Jack Murray had the best mo hands down and he was also the most active with fundraising so that was awesome," Cooper said.
"Josh Miles (first grade captain-coach) was by far the worst mo though, he's lucky he was good at raising money!"
Cooper was quick to acknowledge how the entire club has helped to raise awareness and money for several causes this year.
Not only did they raise money for Movember, they also presented the Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP) a cheque for an incredible $10,137.
Those funds will be used by RAMHP to roll out community mental health and wellbeing training in the Parkes area.
Since 2003, Movember has funded more than 1,250 men's health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men's health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.
