Bathurst's Josh Turnbull trained the winner, with veteran Doug Hewitt providing a masterful ride aboard the three year old gelding.
He burst out of the blocks from outside on the first row and from then on, no runner could get anywhere near him, eventually winning ahead of PROMISE TO ROCK by a dominant 17 metres at $9.50 fixed.
After THE GIRLS HAVE IT was disqualified, SHEZ ON TARGET managed to secure third by default from the inside pegs ahead of the heavily fancied favourite KARLOO BODACIOUS for Barry Lew, who was very disappointing at $1.70.
It was a good day for Parkes runners, taking out the $4.60 quinella in the Egmont Park Stud Pace with BE GOOD BENNY for Alectown's Stan Townsend and the William Cassell trained ROCK HAND.
Both local runners were comfortably ahead of the rest of the field, streaking away in the straight to win by over 10 metres.
Forbes based trainer Gary Eyre with KARINYA JUDE and Tamworth runner ALLIYAHS CHOICE caused a huge boilover in the Sky Racing Active Ladyship Pace, with the exacta paying $428.50.
The Forbes four year old mare accelerated well in the shadows of the post to take second paying $4.00 on the tote place, meaning she has now placed in four of her last five starts.
Parkes Harness Racing Club will host a meeting next Sunday August 30, with the Garrard Ironhorse Series Final the feature race.
