The original date of July 31 for the art competition for the Parkes Shire's youth has been extended to midnight Monday, August 10.
Organisers said due to Covid-19, some people in the community have experienced an increase in workloads and access to online resources.
While dozens of entries have been received, drought response officer Roger Kitson and event organiser Sean Cassidy from Ub Ubbo felt that an extra week was required to give people adequate time.
"We have received some great artwork to date, mostly paintings and photography," Roger said.
One of the outcomes of 'The Art of Resilience' project is to record and compile a CD made up of all the incredibly talented local artists and songwriters in Parkes.
"If you have an original song that fits the theme of resilience, drought, bushfires or Covid-19, please record yourself performing the song and enter it into the competition," Roger said.
