A large crowd gathered in Cooke Park on Saturday for the official Australia Day ceremony which included  the national anthem, acknowledgement to country, flag raising, an address by Ambassador Allan Sparkes and the presentation of civic, cultural and sporting awards. The Central West Car Club and the Parkes Antique Motor Club had a range of impressive vehicles on display.
