Ian and Marion Unger will open their garden “Avarest” at 16 Reymond Street next weekend (September 29 and 30) to raise funds for farmers and hopefully give a farming family a break away from the drought.

It’s a garden with a difference, with a friendship walk and plenty of surprises around each corner.
On the Saturday of the event, the Ungers will be hosting an auction led by Parkes auctioneer Geoff Rice.
All proceeds will go to the drought appeal, particularly focusing on helping farmers cope.
Donated items for the auction, and plant and nick-nack stalls can be dropped off in the lead up to the event.
Any saleable items will be greatly appreciated.
All items to be in by 12pm on Saturday, September 29. The auction will be held at 3pm.
Auctioneer Geoff Rice will put a list of already gathered items on his facebook page the week of the event.
The volunteer-based organisation BlazeAid will have representatives on site over the weekend.
If you know of a farming family who are doing it very tough, you can put a name forward to BlazeAid in a sealed envelope.
How much help they can deliver depends, of course, on how much is raised.
The cost to visit the garden will be $20 per adult; school age children 10 years and over $5; and younger, supervised children will be free.
