One of the aims of the trip was to provide school supplies so both teachers and students alike has the tools to educate and be educated.
The organisers of the mission asked Parkes Stationery and Office Supplies if they were able to help with the provision of school suppliers for this worthy cause.
Marty and Gregor Sammut-Paul, owners of Parkes Stationery, reached out to their suppliers and were overwhelmed by the generosity of donations.
Over two pallets of school supplies were donated, including notebooks, writing instruments and general stationery.
These goods are basic tools critical for both teaching and learning.
Due to the amount donated, Parkes Stationery approached the Uniting Church Welcome Congregation of Parkes to see if their mission to East Timor taking place later in the year, would benefit from a donation of school supplies.
It was confirmed the school supplies would be greatly appreciated and utilised to equip teachers and students with basic tools and enhance the educational experience of all involved.
“We have such strong relationships with our suppliers, and we were so pleased they were able to contribute such a high volume of goods so that more than one worthy cause could benefit,” Marty said.
Parkes Stationery and Office Supplies together with Parkes Christian School and the Uniting Church Welcome Congregation of Parkes would like to thank the following suppliers who kindly donated to these worthy causes: ACCO Australia, Pilot Pens, Razor Stationery Staedtler, and Uniball.
