TAFE Western Head Teacher Nursing and Health in Parkes, Orange, Forbes and Condobolin Sara Morgan is putting out the call for enrolments in the newly formed Certificate III in Individual Support right across TAFE Western’s footprint.

“Previously there were Certificate III courses available for disability, aged care and home and community care, but this is no longer the case,” Ms Morgan said.

“Now we are offering the Certificate III Individual Support Course which is made up of seven core units that branch out into specialty units including aged care, disability care and home and community care.

“So while the course may have changed, the quality teaching at TAFE Western hasn’t so if you’re considering a career change or expanding your skills, there’s never been a better time than now to enquire about these courses at TAFE Western.”

Ms Morgan said another added benefit to studying aged, disability or home and community care courses was a worldwide shortage of workers in all three industries.

“It’s well publicised that the world’s population is ageing and many aged care facilities are increasing their bed numbers to prepare for this increased demand,” she said.

“There’s also a shortage of workers in the disability care and Home and Community Services sectors, so if you’re looking for an industry where your skills can provide opportunities for work all over the world, then you should strongly consider these areas.”

Ms Morgan said enrolments were now being accepted right across the central west, at TAFE Western colleges .
