Parkes Diagnostic Imaging hosted an event to celebrate the strong camaraderie between health workers and organisations in the Central West with several doctors, medical staff and health group representatives attending.
The Honourable John Cobb MP was also in attendance and spoke highly of the newly refurbished PDI clinic.
“Parkes Diagnostic Imaging is a great asset to the community and to the overall medical infrastructure in our region,” Mr Cobb said.
“I’m very excited to hear that an MRI scanner is going to be added to the equipment at the clinic as it means people won’t need to travel to have their scans done.”
While other regions health care facilities and equipment may be in demise, Ms Hill is excited that smaller rural communities likes Parkes in the Central West, can boast that they house not only state of the art equipment, but also the added customer service and care rarely seen in metropolitan areas.
“At Parkes Diagnostic Imaging we have concentrated on providing fast report turnarounds for doctors and their patients and offering the community the convenience of ultrasound and CT scanning without having to leave the region,” Ms Hill said.
PDI is a prime example of the high professional standard of procedural care and reporting in the Central West, using state of the art equipment and servicing the medical practitioners and residents of regional NSW.
“Parkes Diagnostic Imaging services an area extending from Condobolin, Tullamore, Trundle, Molong, Yeoval, Forbes, Eugowa, Canowindra, and even east towards Orange,” Ms Hill said.
“As well as providing ultrasound, OPG and x-ray services, Parkes Diagnostic Imaging currently holds the only CT in this area, even servicing the hospitals at the moment.”
Ensuring equipment and services offered are of a high standard is something PDI is passionate about with complimentary services including ultrasound guided therapeutic injections.
“We want the people of Central NSW to know that they don’t have to travel long distances just for a scan,” Ms Hill said.
“They can drop into Parkes and enjoy the added convenience of our shopping, dining and beautiful surrounds, boosting the overall economic growth of the region.
“We like to think we’re contributing to the health of the region in more ways than one.”
