The Relay is taking place in just under two weeks at Northparkes Oval, kicking off at 3:45pm on Saturday, November 1, and the exciting events program has just been finalised.
It reveals some amazing new entertainment and activities, including a free 30 minute Eat It to Beat It Healthy Lunchbox session which takes place at 5pm in the Survivors and Carers tent.
Eat It to Beat It is a practical new program focused on budget-friendly, healthy eating tips and techniques and aims to educate the whole family on how to get more fruit and vegetables into their diet without hurting the hip pocket.
New figures highlighted by Cancer Council NSW reveal that more than 90 per cent of adults in the Parkes region are not eating the recommended five serves of vegetables a day, with more than 50 per cent not eating the recommended two serves of fruit a day .
If you’re a parent with school-aged children who’d like to register for the Eat It to Beat It Healthy Lunchbox session taking place at 5pm at the Relay For Life, or for more information please call Cancer Council on 6392 0800.
