Some 200 cars are expected to participate in the Rally with more than 150 nominations received prior to Easter.
Entries have been received from everywhere between Bega and Armidale, as well as entries from Ballarat (Vic) and Adelaide (SA).
All CHMC Rally entrants will arrive and register from today, (Good Friday) with the Parkes Racecourse the CHMC 'Rally Headquarters' during the visit.
Barry Garment, Secretary of the Parkes Antique Motor Club who is providing event support, said the vehicles nominated to date range from 1911 to 1983, with nearly half being built before 1950.
“Many of the vehicles are in original condition, but most of the pre 1950 vehicles have been painstakingly and accurately restored,” Barry said.
Many vehicles represent the upper luxury models of their time.
“Makes such as Chandler, Chrysler, Buick, Studebaker and Auburn will be present, which compare to the high-end BMWs and Mercedes of today.”
The CHMC represents 90 Heritage Motoring Clubs in NSW and will hold its annual meeting at the Parkes Services Club this evening.
All vehicles will be at the Racecourse tomorrow from 9am to 1pm for public display and judging.
Judging includes Club groups as well as individual vehicles.
Tomorrow afternoon the rally will travel to Peak Hill via Goonumbla and spend time in Peak Hill before returning to Parkes via the Newell Highway.
The vehicles will be on display in the streets of Peak Hill and some may also call in to the Radio Telescope on the return journey.
Tomorrow evening will see a social dinner at the Parkes Leagues Club.
On Easter Sunday, the CHMC Rally will leave the Racecourse at 9:30am and travel to Eugowra for morning tea. The vehicles will be on display.
From Eugowra, the vehicles will travel to Forbes where they will again be on display at Victoria Park from 11:30am until 3pm.
From Forbes the rally will return to Parkes for the presentation dinner at the Parkes Leagues Club.
On Monday, entrants will have a farewell breakfast at the Racecourse before departing.
Rodney Bradley, PAMC’s Rally Director said rally entrants love to talk about their vehicles.
“People should not be shy in approaching them and asking questions,” he said.
