Already 239 people have booked for home housing but the demand will certainly increase as the festival draws near.
“The booking enquiries are coming in at a steady rate which is great for this time of the year, but once we hit December and especially after Christmas that’s when it will get really hectic,” Tracie Robertson of Ray White Real Estate who are handling the home hosting said.
The theme for next year’s Festival is Kissin’ Cousins.
One of the female stars of the movie Cynthia Pepper has accepted an invitation from the organising committee to be one of the guests.
“With Cynthia Pepper coming to town we expect the festival to be huge and we will need more homes than ever,” Tracie said.
Many people have been part of the home host programme since its inception.
Friendships formed then have continued with many people returning to the same locations for subsequent festivals.
Residents may have only the one room available or they may be away on holidays during the festival and provide their entire house for the weekend’s activities.
“You can stay home and play host to your guests or move out for the entire festival,” Tracie said.
“And can I reassure anyone contemplating becoming involved in the home host program for the first time, there is no need to be nervous as the quality of the guests has always been great.
“In past years, many people have commented at just how clean and tidy their homes have been left once their guests have departed.”
“Getting involved in the Home Host program for the Elvis Festival is a great way to meet people and become part of all the fun.
“It is also a great way to earn a bit of pocket money and an opportunity to help pay off a few post Christmas bills,” she said.
“All you need to do is provide either your home, or if you are staying there, a room or rooms for your guests, breakfast provisions each day they are there and of course a smile to accompany your hospitality.”.
Tracie said many people often comment how they have given thought to getting involved in the home host program.
“This time we really need you more than ever,” she stressed.
“Anyone wanting further inquiries or wishing to register their home can do so by phoning us at Ray White on 0268621900.”
