Connecting communities through seniors expo

On Friday, 2 May, Neighbourhood Central held a Senior’s Expo at the Parkes Services Club.

Neighbourhood Central’s aged care services are tailored to the needs and preferences of individual clients, ensuring independence, well being and quality of life.

The expo was designed to also include the many other services that support older people in our communities.

We are grateful for the support and attendance of local service providers: Kerin Health, Legal Aid, Parkes Palliative Care Volunteer Service, Service NSW, Services Australia, VitalCALL and Yoorana Gunya.

OPAN, Carer Gateway and Advance Care Planning provided brochures with information about their services as they were unable to attend in person.

Neighbourhood Central would like to thank Philip Donato, MP for opening the expo as well as Graeme Dean, Di Scott and Lyn Townsend who all spoke at the Expo to highlight the services that Neighbourhood Central provides to the community.

The Expo was a remarkable success and received lots of positive feedback.

Many people discovered services that are available to support them in managing their daily lives, and appreciated being able to speak freely to Neighbourhood Central staff, as well as the other local service providers.

The goal of the Expo was to provide inspiration, advice, and information.

Everyone enjoyed a lovely morning tea, and several lucky people went home with lucky door prizes that had been graciously donated by All Ages Podiatry and Mobility Forbes, Arnold’s, Be Café, Channel 7, Coles, Colouby Creations, Cunningham’s IGA, Harvey Norman, Little Blooms and Ron Dunford Chemist.
