Hawks swoop on Brahams in round one

The Harden Hawks have had a great start to the George Tooke Sheild 2025 season with a win over the Binalong Brahmans at McLean Oval last Saturday.

Tries for the Hawks went to Drew Arabin, Jayden Cutting x2 and Jarrod Sharman with Zakaia Lewis converting three to secure the 22-14 win for the locals.

It was a convincing win for the ladies as well with the League Tag side defeating the Brahmans 30-6.

Clare Smith had one try while Georgia scored four and Emma James converted all five to smash the Brahmans.

This Saturday the Hawks and Hawkettes will be hosted by the University of Canberra Stars at Raiders Belconnen with kick off for the League Tag at 1.15pm and First Grade taking to the field at 2.30pm.

In the other games over last weekend the Boorowa Rovers defeated UC Stars at home 68-18, the Crookwell Green Devils went down to Bungendore Tigers at Bungendore Sports Hub 18-12 and the Googong Goannas lost to the North Canberra Bears at Duncan Playing Fields 6-36. The Snowy River Bears had the bye.

This weekend the other games being played are Bungendore vs Googong, Crookwell vs Binalong, North Canberra vs Snowy River and the Rovers have the bye.
