After establishing an early lead, Canowindra Tigers ended up disappointed in Sunday’s Woodbridge Cup contest against Trundle.
Canowindra put first points on the board with a penalty goal, then piled on three tries and another penalty for a 10-22 half time lead, but a second half resurgence saw the Boomers celebrating 36-32 at full time.
The visitors had all the early momentum: Ky O’Byrne scored the Tigers’ first try under the posts in the 11th minute and backed up with their second just a few minutes later to give the Tigers a 14-nil lead just 15 minutes into the Round 4 first grade game.
Some good play from Trundle put the pressure back on the Tigers, closing the gap to 10-14.
But the Tigers stepped up with some nice play of their own and good ground gained by nice runs from the forward pack.
