Unique is a word often thrown around in car circles, and one-off always makes the ears prick up - but what makes this Monaro something special is that it's unique one-off build came direct from Holden itself.

Designed and built in 2019, the Monaro was the major prize in a promotion for Holden and AC Delco parts, and Dave Littlewood from the Central West Car Club was lucky enough to be the winner.
"I thought somebody was having me on when I got the phone call to say I'd won it last year," laughed Dave.
"I didn't even know what Project Monaro was, or even that I had a ticket in it, so you can imagine my excitement when I eventually realised what I'd won."
Project Monaro began life as a 2004 VZ CV8 Holden Monaro with just over 200,000 kms under its belt, and for those who didn't follow the promotion and build online, I recently found out a bit more about it from Dave at Littlewood's Smash Repairs in Parkes.
It seems like no expense was spared on Project Monaro, with the complete mechanicals stripped, restored and upgraded.
The 5.7 litre LS1 V8 was rebuilt by Fabietti Racing, while Red Bull Triple Eight Racing handled the brakes and suspension.
The plate from Holden under the bonnet says "001/001" and that's exactly what this is.

The frontsplitter, bonnet scoops and rear spoiler were all custom designed and fabricated on a 3D printer, the 19 inch rims are a one-off and the satin Panorama Blue Suede came direct from PPG for this car only.
There's a full custom leather interior and project ambassador Craig Lowndes' signature on the dash and plenty of other features that make this Monaro unique.
Dave's the first to admit he's no Holden purist.
"I follow 888 Racing in the V8 Supercars but that's as close as it gets," he chuckled.
"I'd rather be driving my Mustang."
And it's that sentiment that may well just prove the advantage for somebody else.
"As much as I love this Monaro and appreciate the win, it's now starting to collect dust because I just don't drive it enough - so it's time for it to go," Dave said.
Project Monaro will be on display in the PPG tent at Summernats 2022 in January with a For Sale sticker and he's listed it in Unique Cars magazine for January, so if you're interested in it or would just like to check it out then that will be your chance!
