The Final of the Minor Pairs attracted the most interest.
Maureen Miller and Heather Harvey, our new Champions, were totally focused and led the match from the start.
Congratulations, and commiserations to Lorraine Baker and Chris Curteis, but well played all of you!
In social games, Team Simpson (Joan, Beth Thomas, Helen Clark) made full use of auto-correct and blitzed the game against Julie Green/Jan Griffin/Rosemary Mitchell.
Our newcomers, two of Beth's sisters, discovered bowls isn't plain black and white!
Valmai Westcott/Lynn Ryan/Liz Byrne developed a sound strategy on rink 13 to scroll through each end and finish with a big, glossy 4 to defeat Gwenda Carty/Kate Keogh/Carol Reed.
Kay Craft/Marja Iffland/Vi West and Eileen Bradley/Maria Willcockson/Helen Heraghty epitomized what social bowls is all about, displaying positive, not negative, vibes on rink 8, and playing to a 13 - all draw.

With great anticipation, the action moved indoors for our Annual Presentation Day and Christmas lunch.
President Maureen thanked all the volunteers, without whom our club could not function so successfully - the green keepers, BBQ cooks, hydration manager, committee and members.
Lynn won a flash voucher from the Railway Hotel in the raffle, and Beth will enjoy Frances' divine Christmas cake as well.
Smiles appeared on the faces of 100's club cash winners - Marja, Elaine, Carol, Maureen B and Eileen.
The presentations provided a snapshot of a very successful year of competition. Champions in each category were awarded, and a well-earned Club Champion badge pinned on Liz Byrne.
An emotional Carol Reed accepted the generous Parkes News and Gifts voucher for most improved, and our thanks to Greg and Christine, whose grandmother, Cath Steele, was a stalwart of our club in the 80's and 90's.
The coveted Ram badge was humbly accepted by Lea, for her efforts of writing this column, among other talents.
So that's a wrap!
A very Merry Christmas, safe happy holidays and a wondrous New Year to you all. Bowls will recommence on January 18.
