I have lived in Peak Hill, Parkes and now a shire village.
I've raised my three children with sports, community activities and education within Parkes whilst being a student myself.
I believe in being an active community member and have been known to throw my hand in at volunteering over the years for a number of community groups.
I have been very active in dog rescue in the last five years also.
I have worked in small business, community organisations and now a large business.
Many years ago, when my children were little, I was asked by the late Robert Wilson to stand for council but motherhood and work commitments were too high.
My children are now young adults and my work allows flexibility, so the timing is right for me to put my hand up and work hard for this community, from now and well into the future
My main goal, should I be elected, is to listen and respond ethically and thoughtfully.
I'm not a promiser of what can be achieved, as this would be a new role.
I can say, however, that issues around mental health, youth support systems and put to sleep rates of animals at our pound are all important to me.
Developments for our future are wonderful, but at the same time we need to support and encourage our local residents and business to grow
We want them to be heard and not forgotten.
I'm a traditionalist in many ways.
If I want my children to be part of, and active members of our community, leading by example is important.
A strong community is the backbone of development and our future.
So I ask you on December 4, to Vote 1 Cathy Francis.
