Now that our freedom is increasing, there are many people wanting to break out from restrictions and get outdoors and active.
This is what the Dragon Boat Club's 'Learn to Paddle' program is all about.
Parkes Dragon Boat Club coach, Beth Thomas, said the program is perfect for beginners keen to try out the sport.
"'Learning to paddle' will give newcomers the opportunity of learning the skills and techniques of dragon boat paddling without having to keep up with a practiced crew," she said.
"The program will cater exclusively for beginners and be paced accordingly."
'Learn to Paddle' is a five-week program which will run on Sunday mornings from 10.30 to 11:30 at the beautiful Lake Endeavour Dam.
It will commence on November 7, with a welcome morning tea at 10am beforehand, and run until December 5.
It will finish with a combined paddle with club members and an award presentation.

The cost of the program is $50 per participant, with this amount deducted from your membership fee if you decide to join the club.
Parkes Dragon Boat paddler, sweep and board member, David Potts, had one piece of advice for those interested.

According to Dragon Boats NSW (DBNSW), there are currently over sixty affiliated dragon boat clubs scattered around the waterways of New South Wales, each sporting their own individual culture.
Dragon boating, according to DBNSW, is thought to have originated in southern central China over 2500 years ago.
It is now a major part of Chinese culture, representing patriotism and group integrity.
The great thing about dragon boating is it is great for people of all ages and sizes, so join the fun at Lake Endeavour on this laughing dragon boat, you won't regret it!
