Greg Townsend came up against Rob Irving in what turned out to be a marathon match - lasting 38 ends.
For the first 25 ends Rob had the lead, but only narrowly, and on the 26th end Greg scored four shots to lead for the first time 20-18.
By the 27th end the scores were tied at 29-all and - after a tense final end - Rob claimed the match 31-29.
He will play in the final against the winner of the second semi-final, either Gary McPhee or Brian Hampton.

In the minor pairs Mal Porter and Tony Reardon played an in-form pairing of Ian Simpson and Wilbur Harris who came out on top 27-16.
There were a couple of close games in the handicap pairs matches.
John Wright and Gary McPhee gave three shots to Ian Simpson and Brian Hampton but in a tight finish advanced to the next round with a 29-27 win.
Rob Irving and John Ward had a three-shot advantage over Brett "Baldy" Frame and Brian Townsend but in the end Brett and Brian proved too strong, winning 26-18.
In the other close game Dave Johnson and Mal Porter gave one shot advantage to Wilbur Harris but won the match 22-21.
