The Pink Up Parkes Committee made the difficult decision to postpone any events until January 2022.
This decision has been made with the welfare of our community as the highest priority.
The committee wants to be able to participate and raise awareness for The McGrath Foundation and their nurses and now that the Parkes Elvis Festival has been moved to April 2022, we are hoping that January brings more opportunities to pink up our town.
The McGrath Foundation funds 170 breast care nurses in communities right across Australia, who have supported more than 95,000 families since 2005.
"We hope that the decision to move Pink Up Parkes events to January 2022 will provide more opportunities for holding events," Chairperson Carolyn Rice said.
"In particular, we look forward to being able to once again hold a successful Pink Up Parkes dinner and auction.
"During our inaugural year this was a significant contributor to the fundraising efforts of the month.
This event was also an opportunity to acknowledge the amazing work that The McGrath Foundation do, particularly in regional communities.
"We are very fortunate to have a McGrath Foundation Nurse working in the Parkes, Forbes and Lachlan Shires."
If you would like to the committee to promote an event or if you will be 'pinking up' in January, let the committee know as they would love to promote what you are doing!
Just fill in the simple registration form and they will help to promote your business or organisation.
The committee is also thrilled to be offering up first, second and third prizes for shop frontage displays.
Registration for this competition can also be made via the Pink Up Parkes registration form.
Revised forms are now up on our website at www.pinkupparkes.wordpress.com and links are on our social media.
If you have items for auction in January, please get in touch early to ensure that all items are included.
Pink Up Parkes is also happy to announce that they are supporting the brand new Overture event to be held in Cooke Park on 2 April 2022.
This will be a fabulous fundraising opportunity for our local charity at an event celebrating opera and musical theatre under the beautiful night skies of Parkes.
