This decision has been made with the welfare of our community as the highest priority.
The committee wants to be able to participate and raise awareness for The McGrath Foundation and their nurses and now that the Parkes Elvis Festival has been moved to April 2022, we are hoping that January brings more opportunities to pink up our town.
The McGrath Foundation funds 170 breast care nurses in communities right across Australia, who have supported more than 95,000 families since 2005.
"We hope that the decision to move Pink Up Parkes events to January 2022 will provide more opportunities for holding events," Chairperson Carolyn Rice said.
"In particular, we look forward to being able to once again hold a successful Pink Up Parkes dinner and auction.
"During our inaugural year this was a significant contributor to the fundraising efforts of the month.
This event was also an opportunity to acknowledge the amazing work that The McGrath Foundation do, particularly in regional communities.
"We are very fortunate to have a McGrath Foundation Nurse working in the Parkes, Forbes and Lachlan Shires."
