They have remained hard at work to ensure locals going through cancer treatment have the support they need.
At any time the Parkes branch is supporting some 100 people in our district with the costs associated with their cancer treatment, and now they have opened the doors of a brand new store to raise funds.
The group is thrilled with the new venue - the former Rascals building in Court Street - where they've been busy unpacking after the move from their long-time home in the Parkes Showground pavilion.
President Sylvia Glendenning says it's been a phenomenal effort from the team of about 20 volunteers to pack up many boxes of donated household goods and create a display in the new retail space down town.
They're now opening to the community five mornings a week and their efforts have been incredibly well received.
There's already an impressive selection of linen, glassware, crockery, jewellery, fabric and craft items, mobility aids, plants as well as baby goods, books and DVDs on display and available for purchase.
"The community is tremendously supportive, people love (the new store)," Sylvia said.
All that ensures that the vital work of this unique organisation is able to continue in times that are uncertain for many.

At any one time CanAssist is supporting about 100 people, with some 200 on their books.
"We've continued to support people with cancer, that hasn't suffered," Sylvia assured the community.
For those who aren't fully aware of the work of CanAssist, it was established in 1986 and is all about locals supporting locals.
"All the money raised here stays here," Sylvia said.
All funds raised help with the costs of accessing cancer treatment including travel or accommodation, medications or other needs - and every effort is made to make it simple.
"You don't have to fill out a form every time you go to the chemist, every client has a number they just give," Sylvia said.
For assistance, contact Pat Bailey on 0447 051 946. All support is confidential and Pat has been in the role for many years, she will steer you through.
CanAssist in Court Street will be open 9am to 1pm Tuesday to Friday, and until 12.30pm Saturday.
There'll be lots of new stock every day, with $6 box sales to recommence once everything is unpacked.
Furniture sales are still based at the Parkes Showground, in the animal nursery area.
