Organisers have announced the festival, which was scheduled to take place from January 5 - 9, is moving to April 20 - 24 in 2022.
The current COVID-19 risks, regulations, lockdowns and border restrictions have forced the organisers to make the decision to delay now, rather than continue with planning for January surrounded by such uncertainty.
Parkes Shire Mayor, Cr Ken Keith OAM, said it was the best move for all involved.
"We had the community's health and safety at the forefront when making the decision to delay, and this extra time will help to ensure that vaccination rates are high, and life is returning to post-COVID normality," he said.
Parkes Elvis Festival director, Cathy Treasure said that after this year's festival had to be cancelled, it was disappointing to move it yet again, but it promises to be bigger and better than ever.
"We are determined to make 2022 a memorable Parkes Elvis Festival for all to enjoy safely," she said.
"Naturally the entire festival family is disappointed that we can't go ahead with our traditional January date.
"Rest assured that we are working behind the scenes to deliver an incredible April event to celebrate in true Parkes fashion and continue the tradition of delivering a highly successful one-of-a-kind festival," said Ms Treasure.
LOOK BACK ON THE 2020 ELVIS FESTIVAL:
The festival team have contacted the accommodation providers in the Parkes and Forbes Shires and have been assured the January 2022 bookings will be carried over to the new dates in April, or, alternatively, to the 2023 festival
"There is no need to rush and make contact now as accommodation providers have reserved the April dates for existing bookings," Ms Treasure said.
"If fans are unable come in April then they should contact their accommodation providers to make alternate arrangements."
The ticket launch date will be moved to November 15 in line with the new Festival dates and the 2023 festival will return to its usual date in January.
And boy, us hound dogs should be very excited for the 2023 festival from January 4 - 8 as well.
The festival will celebrate it's 30th anniversary and it will be the perfect time to reflect on all our dreamy Elvis memories from the last three decades.
