43 players contested last week's 12 hole event at the Parkes Golf Club course.
Playing off an 11 handicap, Forbes' Barry Shine showed the way with a well compiled 29 points in one of the better rounds he has played for some time.
On a day where there was some good scoring, Shine had two points to spare over the Parkes pair of John Fowler and Gordon Pritchard with Fowler winning the runner-up prize on a count back.

Parkes players were dominant in the nearest-the-pins, with Nym Dziuba and Sunna Bell winning the A-grade on the fourth and 11th holes, while Vince Kelly was the B-grade winner on the fourth.
Forbes' Alan Rees picked up a couple of balls when he was the closest B-grader at the 11th hole.
In the Parkes-Forbes Shield, Parkes took the honors 155 points to 149.

The encouragement award won the by Sunna Bell.
Another 18 hole competition will be played in Parkes next Thursday.
