The Regional Telecommunications Review is an opportunity for people living and working in regional, rural and remote areas of Australia to share their views and experiences using telecommunications in their local area.
The short survey includes questions regarding barriers and challenges, reliability, affordability and regional connectivity in our local telecommunications.
It will look to give insights on:
- Improving connectivity
- Effects of COVID-19 on consumer access to, and usage of, broadband and mobile technology
- Emerging technologies that could lead to significant changes and the service reliability
- The impacts on customers and communities in regional and remote areas
Parkes Shire Mayor, Cr Ken Keith OAM, urged residents to have their say on something that is crucial for regional NSW.
"Community members are strongly encouraged to take the short survey to provide your comments on our local connectivity and telecommunications as the report is important in setting the regional communications policy and agenda in the following years," he said.
"You can take the survey by visiting www.infrastructure.gov.au/have-you-say/2021-regional-telecommunications-review.
"The majority of our community members and businesses owners have experienced internet and communication challenges when working from home and or home-schooling throughout the current pandemic.
"Now is the perfect time to provide your feedback and insights to help support the future of regional connectivity," said Cr Keith.
