At just after 3.30pm on Sunday afternoon; fire, police and ambulance crews were called to a building fire on Grenfell Street in Parkes.

Fire and Rescue NSW crews from Parkes and Forbes were on the scene within minutes along with officers from the Central West Police District, NSW Ambulance paramedics, NSW Rural Fire Service firefighters and workers from Essential Energy.
Crews extinguished a fire in the stairwell while working to gain access to the third level to conduct search and rescue operations before being called back to the scene after a reigntion within a wall cavity was located by the NSW State Emergency Service, who were on scene assisting police.
Crews removed a door frame and window, gaining access to extinguish the flare-up.
Paramedics were there to assess residents and police reported one person needed stitches to their hand after jumping from a window.
Investigations by the NSW Police Force are ongoing.
