On Thursday morning, the sun was shining, the birds were chirping...and blades of grass and car windscreens were heavy under the weight of a very thick frost.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology's station at the Parkes Airport, at 7am it was -2.4°C with an apparent temperature of -6.5°C.

It's the seventh day in July with temperatures of zero or less in Parkes, with the lowest temperature coming on July 7, when the minimum was -3°C
