The 4-4 score line was an apt indication of the aggressive attacking tendencies of both sides across the entire 90 minutes, in a clash that was crucial for finals hopes.

The freezing, windy conditions did nothing to quell the ball movement, and the Cobras signature attacking style was both a blessing and a curse according to coach Meaghan Kempson.

"I think our most promising and concerning moments are when we push forward with numbers quickly," said Kempson.

"If we pull it off, we score, if we don't they score on a counter attack."

Cobras striker Shane Percy kicked the first goal of the match after 25 minutes and for the rest of the match each of the Cobras goals were followed by a Panorama one just minutes later.

Parkes played with better control and generated the majority of the chances, but the defence was caught out far too easily a number of times; something Panorama took full advantage of.

That was not from want of trying by Cobras defender Ben Coultas, who was flawless in both attack and defence, but it was Alec Bateson and Shane Percy who shone the brightest.

Percy grew a leg and played his best game for the Cobras by far, putting himself in great positions in the box and did a mountain of two-way running while Bateson continues to prove his standing as one of the classiest players in the league.

According to Kempson, the pair are vital cogs in the Cobras machine.

"Percy has shown the most drive and determination out of all the boys the past few weeks.

"He has such a strong desire to win and his energy on the field is key to us getting results.

"Acka's ability to draw fouls has put us in great positions to score and his footwork is top class," said Kempson.

Fouls were certainly the flavour of the day.

The Western Premier League is an inherently physical league, but Saturday took that to the next level with a number of very heavy collisions, something Kempson attributed to the importance of the clash.

"It was hard to keep up with those fouls, I think it was an indicator of how vital the three points were to both teams," she said.

Take nothing away from the passing of both the Cobras and Panorama however, there was some exquisite one-two passes and slick through balls that made the game exciting to watch, despite the horrid weather.

Incredibly, in the horrid Central West weather 22 goals were scored across the three games in Round 14.
