Community members have until Monday, July 26, to complete and lodge their details on the residential roll for council elections which are being held in Parkes Shire in September.
Voting in Local Government elections is compulsory for all voters included on the residential roll. Residents needing to update their enrolment details or obtain a residential enrolment form can do so by visiting the Australian Electoral Commission website or by calling 13 23 26. Enrolment forms must be received by 6pm Monday, 26 July 2021.
Non-residents of Parkes Shire Council area may also be eligible to vote if they are an owner, rate-paying lessee or occupier of rateable land which is not their primary residence.
Details of the eligibility criteria and enrolment claim forms can be obtained from either Parkes Shire Council or it's website.
This claim must be completed and lodged to the General Manager of the applicant's respective council by July 26.
If you are not enrolled to but you are eligible to enrol, you will still be able to vote in elections in the electorate, ward or council area you live in.

When you arrive at the voting centre or polling place, an election official will explain how you can enrol on the day and complete a declaration vote.
They will also help you complete the forms required if you need help. You will need a driver licence or a photo card that shows your current address to help us check your eligibility. In some circumstances, you may need to show a citizenship number or an Australian passport number.
Parkes will be among 125 councils in NSW holding local government elections to decide their next councillors and mayors on September 4.
Registration for candidates has been open for some time and will close at 12pm on August 4.
