One hundred mouths to feed on a Friday night was the reason why Pat Drabsch, Val Glasheen, Lynette Pengilly and Pauline Nicholson - who have been involved in the club for more than those four decades and had children of their own play tennis - established and ran the venue's canteen.
And their years of hard work, sales and fundraising has helped to better resource and upgrade the canteen, as well as support the club itself.
For Pauline and Pat, they are leaving behind a legacy for someone new to follow after they announced their retirement at the club's annual general meeting in April.
Val and Lynette will continue to volunteer in the canteen.
Before this awesome foursome came along, all the club had was a fridge with an honesty box.
Then they started selling food from a table in the clubhouse until they had a room to use as a canteen.
"The canteen was only half the size it is now," Pat said.
The room was renovated and extended in 1989.
"We enjoy the company and have a lot of fun doing it," Lynette said as the reason for what's kept them going for so long.
"It's a social outing for us... We're very close friends."
Pat said it was just something they did and kept doing for all these years.
"We worked very well together," she said.
Val added that most of them still played tennis too.
All four women are life members of the club.
Their commitment over the years has helped to fund a new fridge, drink fridge, pie urn, toaster and sandwich maker, and improvements to amenities, as well as two ride-on lawn mowers, on-court scoring systems and a few $5000 donations to the club.
Not only running the canteen, the women also collected the playing fees each week, handed out draws, balls and score sheets, and kept the toilets and club house maintained.
They've been presented a number of volunteer awards, including the Long Service and Dedication Award at the 2019 Parkes Shire Sport Awards on Australia Day.
Pauline, who is 82 this year, and Pat said they have done their part for the club and it was time to let the younger ones step up.
