Bogan Gate will conduct a vintage sowing day this Saturday from 10am on a paddock at the Bogan Gate Golf Club, where wheat will be planted using tractors that are almost 100 years old; with one made in 1925 and others from all the way to the 1940's.
Presented by the Forbes and District Historic Machinery Association, there will be a sausage sizzle lunch and gold coin entry.
Event organiser Peter Thomas said there was a pretty basic answer as to why the event came about.
"There's a lot of blokes out here mucking around with the old gear and we figured we may as use them for what they are supposed to do," he said.
"We'll be sowing 50 acres of wheat, with some Field Marshalls, Bulldogs, Sifts and old combines and are looking to harvest in early January."
Rain may affect the event, so contact Peter Thomas on 0438 056 279 for enquiries.
