CMOC-Northparkes Mines (Northparkes) and the Parkes Shire Council have announced the successful applicants from the latest round of the Sports Grants Funding Program.

Those that received funding:
- Parkes & District Kennel Club: Replace more floodlights - $1,984
- Parkes Boars Rugby Club: Purchase branded water bottles and full length bench jackets - $1200
- Parkes & District Amateur Soccer Association: Stage 2 of the PA upgrade - $5,500
- Peak Hill Pony Club: Build steel movable fences for the arena - $10,197
- Parkes Tennis Club: Replace the 12 old nets - $ 3000
Parkes Sports Council chairperson Alan Gersbach was delighted to see a range of projects being put forward for selection, however the total applications were down on previous rounds.
"Parkes Shire has a strong sporting culture and programs such as this promote and increase participation within the community," he said.
Cr Louise O'Leary, who presides over the Selection Committee was pleased that the projects put forward included a mix of facility and participation projects.
The aim of the program is to increase regular and ongoing participation opportunities in sport and to improve the sporting infrastructure within the Parkes Shire.

Northparkes managing director Hubert Lehman was very pleased the organisation was able to support such a vital part of the Parkes community.
"At Northparkes, we are committed to a number of long-term community partnerships, including the Sports Grants Program, which not only benefits our people, but the community in which we live and work," said Mr Lehman.
"We recognise the importance of sport in sustaining a healthy and happy community and by providing financial assistance through the Sports Grants Program in partnership with Council, we're able to support a range of different teams and clubs within the local community," he concluded.
In total $21,881 in grants were distributed this round, which was less than the total available.
The joint funding agreement between Northparkes and Parkes Shire Council will distribute $170,000 in sports related funding over three years.
The next round, which opens in September, will see a total of almost $39,511.06 available for sports related projects within the Parkes Shire.
