Night competitions continued last week with Monday Singles Challenge and ladies social doubles. Ben Evans was back on court and it didn't take him long to find enough of his old form to outclass his opponents.

Tuesday night mixed saw the One Hit Wonders led by Maddy McCormick score a 4 sets to 2 win over the reigning champs Arndell's Aces. One Hit Wonders will be hard to beat this comp if they can keep their players all fit and on the court each week.
Dreamteam defeated Wasted Potential 3 sets all and by a mere 2 games on a countback after a hard fought night of matches. Mark Ritchie subbed for Dreamteam and the wily old veteran proved too crafty for young Brenden Weekes in their singles 6/1.
Pints scored a 5 sets to 1 win over Smash Hits with the set of the night being the final doubles between Andrew Slattery and Simon Lewis taking on Ben Isaac and Fraser Robertson. The latter pairing fought back after being down set points to take the match to the wire but Andrew and Simon prevailed winning 6/5.
Serve It Up scored a close 3 sets each win over ACES in the final match of the round. Thanks to subs Mick Green and Troy Jones making the night an entertaining one.
RESURFACING
Stage 2 commenced yesterday and if anyone was around the tennis centre over the weekend it was a hive of activity with the community taking away the existing six courts to use at their disposal. It was a great sight, and the tennis club and those beneficiaries are thankful Parkes Shire Council changed their outlook from the first six courts that were basically demolished and couldn't be re-used.
Hopefully Courts 1-6 will be completed in a couple of weeks weather pending and we can run a short revised junior comp to the end of term.
SOCIAL TENNIS
Social tennis is on Saturday afternoons from 12.30pm and anyone is invited to come along and have a social hit, a cuppa and a chat. The weather has been beautiful in the afternoons and perfect to get outside and enjoy some exercise.
JUS EVENTS
Blayney are conducting their JUS (formally JDS) this Sunday. Entries are still open online.
Warren has a JUS on May 30. The club is hoping to take a bus to that event but the Warren Show is on that weekend which made accommodation unavailable, and bus hire was also impossible as many companies sold off parts of their fleets during COVID and now sporting events are back up and running, they are maxed out. However parents can take the time to drive to Warren for a great day's tennis.
