Held from May 17-23, there's a space and time theme to the week at the library.
Kicking it all off - though the event has been underway since May 10 - is the find-a-book challenge where participants put their detective skills to the test and need to find 10 space-themed books.
It doesn't end until Friday and people have the chance to win a CSIRO prize pack.
National Simultaneous Storytime will take place on Wednesday, May 19 at 11am, with this year's book 'Give Me Some Space' by Philip Bunting.
Parkes councillor Bill Jayet will be doing a special live reading from the Parkes Radio Telescope and children aged zero to five years old are encouraged to come dressed in their best space gear.
Also taking place on Wednesdays, from this week until June 9, is some after school fun with the Junior Mindbenders Society.
Students in Years 3-6 can challenge their mind and book-in for this four-week program that runs from 4pm to 5pm.
For those thirsting for more knowledge about space and our Dish, Parkes Observatory operations scientist John Sarkissian OAM will be on hand for two talks on Thursday.
His 4pm session for eight to 12-year-olds will feature the latest news from the Dish and question time about space, while the 6pm session for ages 13 years-plus, Mr Sarkissian will talk about the Dish's involvement with upcoming moon projects.
The week will finish with the library's Friday Flicks, a new event for the facility and this Friday features a classic space-focused movie at 6pm.
There are limited spaces available and library staff say bookings are essential for all events so please call 6861 2309.
