This time it's the Canberra Rotary Club and Cycling Without Age Canberra who are kindly lending the local group one of their trishaws for two weeks.
The tricycle designed to carry passengers arrived in Parkes on Saturday.
Cycling Without Age Parkes representative Peter Guppy said they plan to train people to ride the trishaw over these two weeks, as well as take aged care residents out for a ride.
"Anyone who would like to take out family or friends, please contact trishawforparkes@gmail.com and we will organise a time to familiarise you with the trishaw," he said.
"You can also contact us if you have someone at home who you would like to get out into the fresh air, we will do our best over these two weeks to give that person a great half hour or so."
A volunteer committee has formed, joining the Cycling Without Age movement, to raise the finances to purchase a trishaw for the Parkes Shire.
The group hopes to use the bike to take elderly and less mobile residents on regular leisurely rides, to get them out and about, and back into the community.
A trishaw last visited Parkes for a weekend in April, thanks to BIKEast in Sydney, and was a big hit among those who had a ride or witnessed it in action.
The Parkes group has been fundraising the $20,000 needed since the end of March and are now close to half way.
They have raised $7866.
Organisers of the Van Nationals event that took place in Parkes over the Easter long weekend have been among those who have donated to the effort.
For anyone who'd like to or can contribute to make the trishaw a reality for Parkes, can find the link to their fundraising page here.
