There may not have been an ABBA Festival on the weekend but five fans from up and down the east coast of the country still made the trek out to Trundle.

Some of the women have been attending the Trundle ABBA Festival - which is usually held on the first weekend of May but was cancelled over the last two years because of the coronavirus pandemic - every year for the last two to five years. While one of them is still yet to experience all the sequins and fun.
The event and the town has become their annual meeting point and they weren't going to miss out on seeing each other in 2021.
Louise Carroll is from Spring Farm near Sydney, Joanne Lightbody and Sharon Walker come from Melbourne, Pauline Paine is from the Sunshine Coast, while Tricia Semmens is from Myrtleford in Victoria.
Sharon is the first-timer - well sort of - it's her first time in Trundle.
They arrived on Thursday dressed as hippies, all staying in Trundle over the weekend.
"Even though the ABBA Festival was cancelled we still wanted to come out and dress up for it anyway," Joanne said.
She said they aimed to do everything they would usually do during the festival, including having a new outfit for every day they're here.
Friday usually was the Pink Night fundraiser for breast cancer, so the women dressed up as the Pink Ladies and had their own pink night.
The fundraiser went ahead last October and will again this October, but because the women won't be here to attend, they decided to donate prizes to support the cause.
On Saturday, the festival's main day, the women dressed as Super Troupers.
"And Sunday [was] our recovery day so we [went] as bogans," Pauline said.
The women said they love Trundle and the locals, who are extra nice.
"It's five days away where we can be totally stupid, where we can dress up and have fun," Joanne said of the ABBA Festival.
"We all met on a cruise...It's our way to keep in touch," Pauline said.
