TOMINGLEY will take centre stage on the picnic racing circuit this Saturday, much to the relief of racegoers after COVID-19 cruelled the 2020 edition.

Eight runners will be contesting the $5000 Tomingley Picnic Cup to be run over 1500 metres, with Dubbo trainers Connie Greig and Peter Reynolds entering runners; along with Condobolin's Mark Ward and Peter W Stanley, who trains out of Wellington.
Keep Me Posted, trained in Canberra by Doug Gorrel, will be one to watch in the Cup on the back of taking out the Cootamundra Picnic Cup on April 10 and a nail-biting win in a Benchmark 58 last month in Queanbeyan.
Ward's runner Gadfly is the topweight for the race, though the gelding has come last in his past two races back from a huge 72 week spell.
The gelding won the 2019 Showcase Picnic Championship in Dubbo as a Benchmark 72 horse, so without a doubt his best can get the job done here.
Parkes trainer George Wright Junior has Sturgeon Moon running in the 1150 metre maiden, and despite being a fair way off the pace in her past two starts, the mare will be a live chance in a small, four horse field.

Elsewhere in the Central West, Bathurst and Nyngan will both host meetings on ANZAC Day.
The former will feature the $32,000 Bathurst RSL Club Soldier's Saddle while the highlight of the Nyngan Non-TAB meeting will be the running of the Nyngan Cup, which is run over 1400 metres.
Parkes trainer Sharon Jeffries will be taking three runners up the Newell Highway to the Nyngan meeting, with new stable addition Club Supreme to battle it out with Thee Jenner in the 1100 metre Class 1 Handicap.
Club Supreme, a three-year-old gelding by Supreme Class from Exocet Miss, nabbed his first win in start 10 at Gilgandra on March 20 as the short priced favourite - and Jeffries will be hopeful of making it two in a row with apprentice jockey Liam Blanch aboard.
Thee Jenner is two runs back from a let up and will find the going tougher in this race after drawing the outside barrier, and it's hard to entertain the thought of six-year-old winning this one; though he is also entered in the Benchmark 45 race.
Euro Flash will be looking to break her maiden in her third start for the Jeffries stable after tiring on the straight at Warren on April 10.
