ST GEORGE'S Anglican Church is getting excited about the upcoming arrival of well known Christian Apologist Kevin Simington for short-term ministry with them.

Kevin is a popular author and conference speaker who, for the last few years, has been in high demand as a guest speaker in churches in various parts of Australia.
He is about to be ordained as Anglican minister after many years teaching Biblical Studies and pastoring churches in both Sydney and the Central Coast.
His ordination will take place at 11am on Saturday, April 24, at All Saints Cathedral in Bathurst.
After Ordination, Kevin will take up the role of Ministry Consultant for the Anglican Diocese of Bathurst.
This position was recently created by Bishop Mark Calder to assist parishes come to terms with changing demographics in Australia, and to provide training to key members of parishes to develop leadership in these difficult times.
He will be present in Parkes for eight weeks; conducting planning meetings for the Parish leadership, seminars for the public on two key contemporary issues, and preaching in Parkes and Peak Hill on each weekend.
Kevin will be joined in Parkes by his wife Sandy.
Kevin is the author of 13 books to date, and is a senior writer for My Christian Daily, an international Christian magazine which provides a Christian perspective on current events.
He maintains a presence on the internet, with SmartFaith.net being a popular evangelical blog and resource site for all Christians, with a particular focus on apologetics (explaining the Christian faith) and Christian living.
Kevin's books are a mixture of non-fiction and fiction.
His non-fiction books focus on issues of applied theology and apologetics - the reasoned defence of the Christian faith.
They include the extremely popular 'Rethinking the Gospel' and '7 Reasons to Believe' as well as his newly-released 'Reconnecting with God: 12 Steps to Revitalise Your Walk with God.'

What is somewhat unusual is that Kevin is also a very successful fiction author. In particular, his science fiction quadrilogy, the StarPath series, has proved hugely popular with science fiction fans.
The first book in the series, 'The Stars That Beckon' spent a short time at number one in its genre in the US, UK, Canada and Australia, and his writing has been compared to the old-time classic sci-fi master, Robert Heinlein.
'The Stars That Beckon' is a fast paced 'hard science fiction' adventure that follows the exploits of a bedraggled bunch of unlikely space travellers who flee a dying Earth in search of a new home.
As well as bringing his speaking ability to St George's Anglican, Kevin will also be lending a hand musically.
He plays in a covers band back home on the Central Coast, and his band Retrovibe will be coming to Parkes for an outdoor concert on Saturday May 22.
The concert will be free and will be held in the grounds of St George's Anglican Church, where there will be a sausage sizzle and other activities.
During his eight weeks at Parkes, Kevin will also be conducting two community seminars at St George's Anglican Church.
The first, entitled, 'Why Does God Allow So Much Suffering?' will be on Wednesday, May 5 at 7.15pm. Entry will be free and include a tasty supper.
The second seminar, 'Evidence for Belief' will be on Wednesday June 9, and will address the questions 'Has science disproved God? and "is the Christian faith reasonable?'
Thr Parkes Anglican parish is certainly set for a busy eight weeks during Kevin's visit, and there is a growing sense of excitement among church members.

"We are especially looking forward to the outreach events, and we are looking at other activities for everyone on these evenings for the enjoyment of all."
