Eight ladies teams, including two from Forbes, have signed up for the 2021 season, which kicks off this Saturday.
In total the Parkes and District Amateur Soccer Association has a membership of 320 players, which includes the women.
The ladies fixtures for round 1 at Harrison Park that begin from 1.30pm are:
- 1.30pm - Cambridge Coyotes vs Commercial Kookaburras G6.
- 1.30pm - Star Hotel Cougars vs Railway Bowling Club G7.
- 3.10pm - Forbes Wildcats vs Peak Hill All Stars G6.
- 3.10pm - Parkes Leagues Club Raptors vs Forbes Power G7.
The canteen will be open during these games and the Parkes club is looking forward to putting its new PA system into action this season.
Senior vice president Angela Bottaro-Porter said the women have been playing in Parkes for more than 20 years and it was good to still see it running.
It's also game day for the town's Western Premier League side the Parkes Cobras, a new side that formed last year, in a pandemic year, to take part in the reinvigorated regional football tournament.
The Cobras play today, Saturday at 6pm at Woodward Oval.
