Across the weekend of March 20 - 21, the biannual Trundle Back in Time Vintage Rally and Tractor Pull is back, and farm machinery enthusiasts from all around the country are set to flock to the popular event.
The event, the third such one since it began in 2017, will highlight the 75th anniversary of the iconic E27N Fordson Tractor, and will also feature market stalls, a swap meet, food outlets and vintage cars, trucks and stationary engines.
Digger Anderson, who is doing a power of work to organise the event despite an inopportune broken leg, can't wait for one of the biggest days on Trundle's calendar.
"Trundle will be the center of the tractor pulling universe on March 20 - 21, when we will crown the unofficial Australian Tractor Pull Champion," says Digger.
There are 15 different classes in the Tractor Pull, which usually maxes out at around 80 metres; with each getting a individually laser cut trophy and the winner in the prestigious Fordson category getting a juicy cash prize.
One of the most iconic tractors ever made, the Fordson E27N was originally designed and made by US motor magnate Henry Ford in 1946 and Digger explains why the tractor is so famous.
"When the first Fordson, which was an engineering marvel at the time, came out in 1917, Ford didn't really change the mechanics of it until the 1950's, such was the brilliance and innovative nature of the original design - the popularity of it really has stood the test of time."
The eye catching blue E27N is distinguished from the Fordson N with its tall silver pipe and headlights, which stand out immediately and contribute to its significant charm.

The Fordson won't be the only type of tractor on display, with all types of models, that can date back to over 100 years old, encouraged - so it will certainly be an exciting event for both the machinery history buffs and an important social weekend for both Trundle and the surrounds.
"At the first two events we had over 100 tractors, and this year we are expecting to have more as people get even more excited about the prospect of getting together after 2020 - it is such an important event for locals to get around, support each other and give a much needed boost to the local economy.
"We originally came up with it in 2016 as a way to raise funds for the Trundle Show Society and after the first event in 2017 was such a raging success, we were keen to continue running it," says Digger.
Digger was keen to single out the support of the Parkes Shire Council, who are backing the weekend that also happens to be a crucial fundraising event for the Trundle P&A Show Society.
The weekend will kick off on the Friday evening with a meet and greet barbecue at the Showground before registrations will start from 9.30am on Saturday.
Powered and unpowered camping sites are available in addition to market stalls, and for more information contact the Trundle Showground Trust at trundleshow@gmail.com, while for enquiries about engines, tractors, clubs and entries you can contact Digger on 0417 616 907.
Full COVID-19 restrictions will be in force.
If the enthusiasm of Digger and his army of volunteers is anything to go by, the weekend is set to be an unforgettable experience for farm machinery enthusiasts and spectators alike!
