Central West Police District unveiled its newest recruits on Monday morning, with Inspector David Maher warmly welcoming five probationary constables to the region.

Three of the new trainees have been stationed at Orange with one assigned to both Parkes and Forbes and another 21 posted across western NSW, following their eight-month academy stint.
Emma Montgomery from Wollongong officially began her career at Parkes on Monday morning, with Matthew Kennedy from the Northern Beaches assigned to Forbes.
Mitch Evans, originally from Dubbo but comes from a nursing background and worked in Orange for a short time, is one of the three recruits for Orange.
Caitlin Green and Mitchell Hynes, from Young and Campbelltown respectively, have also landed at Orange Police Station to begin their careers.
The recruits will now begin a year of on-the-job training which they'll complete alongside their Associate Degree in Policing Practice with Charles Sturt University, done by distance.
"We're super keen to start after eight long months of training," Constable Evans said.
"Due to COVID-19 most of that was done online but the last eight weeks were at the Police Academy at Goulburn.
"We've got three years of general duties (but) we're still probationed for the next 12 months. We'll do a lot of on-the-job training and I think that'll be quite intense, we'll still be doing our assessments through CSU as well."
There were 194 new probationary constables welcomed state-wide following their graduation last week, which was the first time family and friends were allowed to attend since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
"We were lucky enough to get five of them," Inspector Maher said.
"It's huge for Orange and the region, having these new recruits in the district (to) help us be out in the community."
