The camp was led by Tennis Australia's Girls lead Emma Shoemaker from Melbourne who went through a series of off-court exercises with the girls who each received a workbook they used during the day around self reflection and well being.
On court it was Tennis Australia's National Academy coaches Jaslyn Hewitt-Shehadie and Angie Svinos, along with Tennis Australia's coach developer and Parkes coach Helen Magill leading the way.
Parkes trainee coaches Abbey Kennedy, Maddy McCormick and Kaitlyn Stevenson, along with Anna Bishop from Gunnedah and Molly Quilty from Dubbo, were also involved taking the girls through their various drills and gained valuable PD from the day.
With only 25 camps across Australia, Parkes girls were given a wonderful opportunity to be involved and all gave their best efforts in what was a warm and busy day, and should be duly proud of themselves.
Tennis NSW club development officer Tanya Murdoch travelled from Newcastle to deliver presentations on the female volunteer program SHEroes, as well as Future Leaders and Youth Advisory Group explaining there are many opportunities to be involved in tennis off the court as well as on.
Parkes SHEroes Sharon Hunt and Toni Unger demonstrated their value to the sport by working in the canteen and taking some action shots of the players throughout the day.
Many thanks also to Brendon Hunt who is the ultimate club person in pre, during and post event organisation.
