The day kicked off with the annual morning walk and breakfast (provided by the Parkes Action Club) at Cooke Park, where people and dogs of all ages gathered to have a yarn.
There was also a large array of cars on display in the park with both Parkes Antique Motor Club and Central West Car Club members in attendance.
The Parkes Harness Racing Club's Australia Day twilight meeting was a fantastic affair, with a very healthy, and COVID safe, crowd in attendance to see Parkes Shire trainers win four of the seven races.
The evening was headlined by the running of the Keith Thomson and Joe Dumesny Memorial races which were won by Poppy Franco (trained by Parkes' Andrew Cassell) and Runpoprun (trained by Trundle's Peter Wright respectively.
