Pat takes over from retiring president, Norma Garment who stays on the executive after being elected secretary, while the new treasurer is Lyndall Bowen.
They will be supported by an enthusiastic committee who will take on various roles to ensure the group grows and prospers in the coming years.
While COVID-19 affected so many, the garden club was able to continue and provide an outlet for its members.
Prior to lockdown members were able to enjoy Nancy McColl and Maureen and Colin Miller's gardens.
From July the club met at the community rooms in Rose Street where Dianne Somdermeyer demonstrated how to grow and nurture succulents.
The club organised for Kath Duncan to demonstrate bonsai growing at the August meeting and this was followed by a trip to the Cowra Japanese Gardens in September where members could participate in making their own bonsai.
In October the club's Garden Ramble for members and friends saw six impressive and very different gardens visited in a COVID-19 safe environment.
In November the AGM was held at Donna's Plants for Charity on Military Road. Donna demonstrated plant propagation which inspired members to have a go at propagating at home.
Of course it's easier to buy a thriving plant from Donna and give back to our local community.
The Garden Club meetings for 2021 will resume on Saturday, March 13, at 2pm. Margaret Robinson has kindly offered her garden at 40 Church Street for the meeting.
Whether you are a novice or an expert gardener, new members are always welcome.
Annual membership fee is $12 and for more information on the club and membership contact secretary Norma Garment on 0409 622 888.
