Sunday night's meeting at the Parkes Harness Racing Club is shaping up to be an exciting affair with a big contingent of local runners contesting an evening that is headlined by a heat of the Club Dubbo Golden Gig.

The heat is for horses with no more than four lifetime wins, with a $9000 final to be held at Dubbo on December 18 and a full field of 11 horses will be contesting the Parkes heat.
Parkes hopes Cuzin Pat and My Flying Spur will be going up against two Forbes runners in Kempley Princess and Skyz Above while Cowra trainer Shannon Rye has scored the gun draw for Twisted Mistress.
Last start winner Energised, trained by Young's Todd Day will be very hard to beat despite having just eight career starts while Only A Fantasy has been racing in much stronger company and will likely show good gate speed from the second row for Junee trainer Terry Judd.
The maiden event for the evening, the Col Fletcher Ford Pace, looks to be an absolute lottery, with Soldtoyousir starting in the box draw for Parkes' Malcolm Hutchings while another Rye runner, Uroc N Warrior, has been racing well without winning over the past month.
Two to watch from the back row will be Lady Pebbles and Poppy Franco for Parkes pair Andrew Cassell and Stan Townsend, with the former securing a minor placing from three of five career starts.

The Parkes Leagues Club Pace is the pick of the evening with five last start winners contesting what is a very strong field.
Townsend has two live hopes in Awesome Ollie and Good Cop who will need to show good gate speed to hold off a star-studded second row which includes Dinosaurus Rex, Bruhaha and Preachers Daughter.
Picking a winner in the Clarinda Park IT Pace, for three-year-old and older horses, will be tough, though the Brett Hutchings trained Country Grammar has been showing some since switching to the Hutchings stable from Victoria.
Next weekend, Dubbo will host Sunday's harness meeting that will have a number of feature races: a Club Dubbo Golden Gig heat, Arthur J. Gallagher Little Red Jug Series heat and the Club Menangle Country Series.
In other harness racing news, Alectown owner, breeder and trainer Stan Townsend has Our Antonio Rose running at Menangle on Saturday night in the $11,220 Garrards Pace.
Townsend will be hoping the filly can repeat the performance of her Group 2 win in late October where she led the entire way, scoring $30,000 in the process.
Gates will open at 5.20pm this Sunday and patrons will be allowed entry through the first Mitchell Street gates in the half hour before the first race, which is at 5.53pm. Full bar, canteen and TAB facilities will be available.
