Fallen trees

Some Parkes residents have been in clean-up mode this week after storms and strong winds on Monday and Tuesday brought down a number of trees and tree limbs.

A large tree blocked traffic in Albert Street on Monday afternoon and at 9.46am Wednesday, firefighters and Parkes Shire Council staff were called to Currajong Street.

A large tree limb had fallen onto a vehicle parked outside the Service NSW building, damaging its roof.

A Parkes Shire Council chainsaw crew, along with the assistance of firefighters removed the branch.

A spokesperson for Parkes Fire and Rescue NSW said these trees can be fateful if anyone was walking under it at the time.
