There will be no Christmas street parade, carnival or Christmas markets, and there will be no Christmas carols in Cooke Park this year.
The impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on 2020 and the strict government restrictions around social distancing are the reasons behind the cancellations.
The Parkes Minister's Association (PMA), who organise the carols every year, sadly delivered the news last week.
"We would like to let the community know that it is with much regret that we have had to cancel Carols by Candlelight this year due to Covid restrictions," they said.
The Parkes Action Club was disappointed it had to cancel its plans for the parade and Christmas carnival too.
But the club said its Australia Day breakfast and annual Kite Festival on January 26 are still going ahead at this stage.
