Although there are no NSW State finals for 2020 the girls were very happy to continue Parkes High's dominance of Open girls tennis with 10 wins from the past 11 years.
The Open boys will travel to Bathurst next week to contest their Western gala day.
MCDONALDS/MAGILL INTERSCHOOL
Friday December 4 will be the 2020 McDonalds/Magill Trophy. This year will be a little different with the COVID safety plan in place to ensure the 3 stages are kept separate. Parkes Christian School Year 9/10 PASS class will come along to assist the Infants and this will be invaluable practical learning as part of their curriculum. All the students from across the primary schools are so excited to have an out of school sports activity to finish their year.
JUNIOR COMPETITION
Round 5 this afternoon. Thank you to those parents who have organised out of time matches. These just need to be completed before December 1st which will be presentation and barbecue night. Special mention to Leanne the canteen lady who has been having some Tuesday specials for the comp players and their families.
The freshly made popcorn seems to be very popular while the decorated cupcakes and bickies look delicious. Please support the canteen as all monies goes back into the infrastructure and giving members and the community a better experience.
FRIDAY FAMILY SOCIAL
A great evening was had by all 51 people who came along and enjoyed the fun activities at last weeks family social play. The under 8s love playing on the red ball courts with their parents or an adult in the 'adult'n'child' winners-up event while the teens and other adults enjoyed social doubles. 21 was played for the under 14s then a second game for the yellow ball junior comp players versing the adults. This was relatively easy until a final game was contested using only 1 racquet per team.
The little kids enjoyed a few games of musical hoops and flush and then it was down to the highlight of the night with a large group game of dash 4 cash.
Jack Kaden and Danilo Bottaro-Porter were the winners of the red ball racquet skills competition while father and son combo of Tony and Gabe Goodrick took out the dash4cash.
The Glastonbury family were the lucky winners of the meat tray. Thanks to everyone who supported the event.
Thanks to Brendon and Sharon Hunt along with Tony Goodrick for taking care of the barbecue and desserts.
The next event will be Friday November 20 from 6.30pm-8.30pm with the final event on December 4 being a Christmas theme.
